Gate Scanning

Validate tickets at the door with any smartphone

Kickets includes a built-in scanner that runs in any mobile browser — no app download required.

How it works

1

Create scanner codes

In the organizer dashboard, create scanner codes for each gate. Assign a name, PIN, and optionally filter which ticket types this gate accepts.

2

Share with gate staff

Each scanner code has a unique URL and PIN. Share it with your door staff — they open it on their phone and sign in.

3

Scan QR codes

Staff point the camera at the attendee's ticket QR code. Kickets validates in real time and shows a clear pass/fail result.

4

Monitor check-ins

Track check-in progress from the organizer dashboard. See how many guests have arrived vs total tickets sold.

Key features

Real-time validation

Each scan is validated against the server in real time. Duplicate scans are immediately flagged.

Offline support

Pre-fetch the ticket manifest before the event. If connectivity drops, scanning continues locally.

Gate-scoped admission

Restrict tickets, VIP tables and individual guest-list entries to specific gates. The wrong gate scanner returns wrong_gate — staff at Main Door physically cannot admit an artist routed to the Staff & Artist entrance.

Guest list — three admission paths

QR (with party-size confirmation), name search in the scanner PWA (no QR needed, audited as scanner_manual), or back-office dashboard override (audited as manual_override). Per-entry gate scoping applies to all three.

Multi-vendor QR compatibility

In the Finnish market, Kickets supports QR code export compatibility with existing multi-vendor scanning infrastructure. This means your tickets can be validated by third-party scanning systems used at shared venues.
